Bunk Campers Rental TermsDEFINITION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
In the event of any discrepancy between these Terms and Conditions and any other Bunk Campers literature, the provisions of these Terms and Conditions apply.
‘Bunk Campers’ means Bunk Campers owned by Blue Quadrant Limited, Cyril Johnston Complex, Ballynahinch Road, Belfast, N Ireland, BT8 8DJ.
‘DRIVER / CUSTOMER / HIRER’ means the person(s) nominated as the driver(s) under the RENTAL AGREEMENT.
‘BUNK CAMPER’ means the vehicle under hire as described under the heading ‘Vehicle Details’ under the ‘Rental Agreement’ and includes tyres, tools, accessories, living equipment and any other special equipment, documents relating to the vehicle and any replacement or substitute vehicle provided by BUNK CAMPERS
‘RENTAL AGREEMENT’ means the document read and signed by the hirer on collection and return of the vehicle. It includes details of ‘Customer’, ‘Vehicle Details’, ‘Rental Period’, ‘Collision Damage Waiver’, ‘Departure Checklist’
All prices quoted and charged in £ (GBP) or € (EURO).
Please note: If you do not book in the local currency of the country where your rental takes place the payment due dates will change and your main vehicle rental charges will be payable in full upon confirmation of your booking. This is to lock in the currency rate of the day you booked on and avoid further currency fluctuations. Some charges like taxes, compulsory fees, extra items may still be payable upon pick up of your vehicle in their local currency. (Please note, If you book in the local currency of the country where your rental takes place the standard payment terms described under the heading Payment Terms will apply.)
Booking: An initial non refundable booking deposit, as itemised in your booking breakdown of costs, will be required at time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit card payment for the initial deposit are Visa and Mastercard only. The remainder of the balance payable will be secured 50 days prior to the pick up of your vehicle. Accepted credit cards for this are Visa and Mastercard only.
Payment is only accepted by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit card (Visa Debit or Maestro). A 3.5% charge is levied to all bookings to cover banking fees when a credit or debit card is used to make payment. Please note, Bunk Campers does not accept American Express.
Vehicles will not be released without full payment being received.
Vehicles will not be released without 2 forms of valid photo identification and funds for deposits being available on collection. The vehicle will not be released until deposit is paid.
One security deposit payment (standard excess) is payable by credit or debit card only on collection. This covers insurance excess, security deposit and cleaning deposit.
The hire of a vehicle from Dublin depot is not available to state residents of the ROI. The hire of a vehicle from any other Bunk Campers depot is available to state residents of the ROI.

** Bunk Campers will supply full breakdown cover to cover any mechanical faults to the base chassis of the vehicle. Any call out charges necessitated by the client through operator error, e.g. a flat vehicle battery etc will be the responsibility of the client.
6a. COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
The COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW) is an optional charge that reduces the insurance excess. This can be purchased at time of booking online or on collection of your vehicle.
CDW cannot be offered to drivers less than 25 years.
7b. SPECIAL COVER
Special cover is an optional protection package that covers replacement or repair to windscreen, external mirror or tyre damage. This can be purchased at time of booking online or on collection of your vehicle. Please note, cover is limited to 1 windscreen, 2 mirrors or 2 tyres after which normal replacement costs will be charged.

9. COLLECTION AND RETURN
Collection and return of the BUNK CAMPER is to agreed location specified at time of booking as set out under ‘hire period’ in the rental agreement.

Other collection / return locations requests will be considered on request, charges may apply. Collection: Collection of the Bunk Camper is between 3-5PM unless otherwise agreed by Bunk Campers and any additional premiums paid. Please allow 1-2 hours in order to complete all paperwork and demonstrate the vehicle to you. One security deposit payment (standard excess) is payable by credit or debit card only on collection. This covers insurance excess, security deposit and cleaning deposit. All drivers must be present on collection of the motorhome and must present their full valid driving licence (as outlined in section 4 of these terms and conditions), passport and credit/debit card for the security deposit. Photocopies will not be accepted. Vehicles will not be released without 2 forms of valid photo identification and funds for deposits being available on collection. The vehicle will not be released until deposit is paid. Vehicle will be handed over in a clean condition and in sound working order in accordance with the ‘Vehicle Condition Report (VCR)’. Please note, Bunk Campers make every effort to have your vehicle ready for collection at the appropriate time, however, during busy periods there may be some delays which are out of our control. Should this be the case, no refunds will be due to you and no extension of your hire can be made as the motorhome will still be required to be returned in accordance with the details set out in your rental agreement. Return – Return of the Bunk Camper is between 9AM-11AM unless otherwise agreed and additional premiums page. Please allow 1 hour to complete the return documentation and check the Bunk Camper. Vehicles must be returned undamaged with a full tank of fuel, with an empty toilet cassette, a clean interior and in the same condition as they left the depot. Charges will apply if the vehicle is returned with additional damage, the fuel tank is not full, the vehicle is unclean or if the toilet cassette is not empty. Please note, there are no toilet cleaning facilities at any of Bunk Campers depots so toilets and waste tanks must be cleaned prior to returning the campervan. There are no refunds for early returns. Charges apply for late returns. Should for any reason, the hirer fails to return the vehicle to the agreed Bunk Campers depot, the hirer accepts that he or she is liable for the full cost to recover the vehicle back to the Bunk Campers depot and for any daily rental fees for the vehicle for the period which it is off the road as the result of not returning the vehicle to the depot by the agreed return time. Late Return – Bunk Campers must be notified immediately to prevent any prosecution for driver(s) driving whilst uninsured. Late returns will be charged at one day’s rental cost regardless of circumstances. If you wish to collect or return the vehicle outside of the collection or return times above, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org before making your booking for information on pricing for out of hours service. There are no out of hours service available on Sundays.#
Out of Hours / After Hours
There is a service charge for collecting and returning vehicles outside of these hours.
The charge for this is as follows:
Early collection (7.30AM-3PM): Additional nightly rate
Late collection: (5PM-7.30PM): £50 out of hours fee
Early drop off (7.30AM-9AM): £50 out of hours fee
Late drop off (11AM-7.30PM): Additional nightly rate
There are no out of hours services at Glasgow.
There are no out of hours services on Sundays.
Bunk Campers are open 7 days a week including public holidays. Due to the low number of Sunday collections and returns there is an additional service charge for collecting and returning vehicles on Sundays.
Please note if you request both a Sunday collection and return, then this will be charged at 2 x £50 = £100.
If you request a pick up or return on a holiday day, there is also an additional charge of £50.
From 2018 there will be an additional cost for airport transfers. Transfers must be prepaid and the customers flight information and contact telephone number sent to Bunk Campers at the time of booking. Transfers are available from the specified pick up loctions only.
Transfers from Belfast International Airport, central London, Prestwick airport or hotels are unavailable.
Bunk Campers do not offer a meet and greet service. Customers should follow the collection instructions detailed within the ‘Transfers’ folder of the Tour Operator pack. We require that these are provided to each customer to ensure a quick and easy collection.
Please ensure your client has enough time to return the vehicle (up to 1 hour) and transfer to the airport as duration may be longer in rush hour traffic. Please email email@example.com if you have any queries.
Instructions to customers:
- Once you have collected your luggage from the baggage hall please telephone the contact number provided for your rental station in order for the shuttle bus to be dispatched.
- A Bunk Campers customer service representative will ask you to confirm your name and the number of travelers in your party.
- The Bunk Campers representative will confirm that you are ready for collection, inform you of your driver’s name and send the Bunk Campers transfer shuttle to meet you.
- Make your way to the designated collection point and wait for your collection.
- Bunk Campers transfer shuttles are clearly marked with the company logo and will take approximately 20 minutes to arrive.
- You will be welcomed by your Bunk Campers driver and promptly transferred to the rental station with your luggage.
Please note: Times for collection and transfer are approximate. During busy times there may be delays. You will be advised of any delay at the time of telephoning and Bunk Campers will endeavor to collect you as soon as possible. Your cooperation is appreciated.

ARRIVAL AT GATWICK AIRPORT
By train: Transfers available to Horsham train station from £5.00
• A frequent rail service is available from London Gatwick airport to Horsham train station.
• Up to 6 trains per hour
• The journey takes less than 30 minutes and tickets cost from £5.00.
• When customers are at Horsham train station supplier can collect them with the transfer service as usual.
ARRIVAL AT HEATHROW AIRPORT
By Coach: Coach transfers from Heathrow to Gatwick are available from £25
• National Express operates the only direct link between Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, with up to six services per hour. Tickets can be purchased online, from National Express ticket desks or from the coach driver.
• The journey time is approximately 75 minutes and the adult single fare is £25.

By Taxi: A taxi can be prebooked from £35
• The journey time is approximately 60 minutes.

10a. CANCELLATION BY BUNK CAMPERS
Bunk Campers reserve the right to cancel a reservation before or at the proposed commencement of hire as follows:
10b. CANCELLATION BY HIRER
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
Customers are advised to check their own travel insurance policy in the event of a cancellation by the hirer. In the event the hirer wishes to make changes to this contract with regards to change their vehicle type, dates of hire or pickup/drop off location requests should be made in writing and agreed by Bunk Campers and the hirer. The following charges shall be incurred: Amendments to reservation dates within the calendar year, vehicle type or collection/return location will be accommodated where possible and are subject to availability and any increase in price. A £45 administration fee applies to any changes. No refund will be given if the value of the hire for the new dates, pickup/drop off location or vehicle type is of lesser value than the original booking.
10c. RIGHT TO CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Every effort will be made by Bunk Campers to ensure you receive the campervan type ordered. However, Bunk Campers reserves the right to change your campervan type in the event of an operational issue. A full refund will be offered if the alternative campervan is not acceptable and the hirer chooses to cancel the rental. No other refund will be available.
The hirer is not liable for any increased rental charges from the substitute vehicle. The hirer is liable for any additional running costs pertaining to the substitute vehicle. No other refund will be available including compensation for additional arrangements booked by hirer (e.g.: flights, hotels, concert tickets).
11. MOTORHOME SYSTEMS:
Bunk Campers will carry out a full pre-rental inspection of every vehicle before the commencement of hire. The inspection involves testing every system on board the motorhome to ensure they are operating correctly. At collection, the hirer will be demonstrated the vehicle and shown how each system works. Should an onboard system fail during the hire, Bunk Campers will make every effort to remedy the fault whilst you are out on rental but in some circumstances, this may not be possible. Bunk Campers cannot be held responsible and will not refund any monies should a loss of service be encountered nor have any obligation to provide a replacement vehicle. In the case of winter hire, Bunk Campers cannot be held responsible in the event of any damage or inconveniences caused by freezing conditions. This is the responsibility of the hirer.
12. USE OF THE VEHICLE
During the rental period, the hirer agrees that the vehicle will not be:
13. DRIVING IN MAINLAND EUROPE
Travel in Mainland Europe is permissible. There is no additional charge for European cover, however you must notify Bunk Campers at the time of booking of your intent to travel to Mainland Europe (Outside of the UK or Ireland). A European travel pack is mandatory for travel to Mainland Europe and you will be in breach of these terms and conditions should you take a motorhome into Mainland Europe without purchasing this. European cover is not available to drivers aged 21-24 years old.
Travel is permitted to the following countries:
All road tolls in European countries are payable by the hirer, in the event that a toll has not been paid, a £45 / €55 administration fee will be charged for processing the relevant paperwork and the toll will remain the hirers responsibility.
14. BREAKDOWN AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE
The hirer will take all reasonable steps to properly maintain the vehicle on hire including checking oil and coolant levels, tyre pressures and batteries
The hirer acknowledges that Bunk Campers will reimburse me for expenditure £50 reasonably incurred in rectifying any mechanical failure. Valid receipts must be provided for reimbursement.
The hirer will be liable for any costs associated with the incorrect use of fuel. All Bunk Campers vehicles run on diesel.
24 hour Roadside Assistance is provided under the hire contract. The hirer may instruct repairs to the maximum value of £50 / €65. Bunk Campers Head Office must be notified by telephone for repairs in excess of this amount.
15. RESPONSIBILITY WHEN AN ACCIDENT OCCURS:
In the event of any accident, loss or damage arising out of the use of vehicle including damage to a third party vehicle, the hirer will:
16. VIOLATION OF TRAFFIC LAWS AND REGULATIONS
Driver(s) are personally liable for all legal penalties and fees pertaining to any traffic violation infringements under the current Road Traffic Legislation applicable in the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Bunk Campers will contact the customer after the rental agreement finishes if any traffic violation infringements are presented to Bunk Campers for your hire period. The driver(s) will be liable for any penalties and fees pertaining to any traffic violation that has been incurred during their hire period.
Bunk Campers will notify the driver(s) of any speeding or parking fines and an administration charge of £45 / €50 for each infringement incurred throughout the hire period..
17. CONDITIONS OF HIRE
The company’s camper van rental agreement is the sole contract for hiring the vehicle between Bunk Campers and the hirer(s), driver(s) and/or passenger(s).
Bunk Campers are contactable on complaints service number throughout the rental period. All faults, damage or complaints must be reported immediately on this number or at the latest on return of the vehicle. In the event that a complaint is not satisfactorily resolved upon return, the hirer must inform Bunk Campers in writing within 14 working days.
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. If you encounter issues with the vehicle whilst on hire, you MUST report these issues directly to the relevant supplier at the earliest possible time. This will allow the supplier to remedy any issues and minimise any inconvenience to you. If you fail to report any vehicle issues during your rental, it is likely that compensation will not be offered. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.95% credit card or debit card surcharge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:

The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
